COLUMBUS, Ohio-A teenage girl, identified as Haleigh Abshire, died following a fiery two-car crash in Columbus’ South Central Hilltop. The collision involved a Hyundai Sonata and a Lincoln MKC traveling eastbound on West Mound Street near the intersection of South Highland Avenue.
Abshire was extricated from the burning vehicle and transported to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Another juvenile was injured but in stable condition. The investigation, handled by the Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit, is ongoing, with no identification of the drivers or determination of whether the vehicles were stolen or speeding.
