April 3rd, 2024- RAINBOW LAKE, Ohio-On Thanksgiving morning in Athens, Ohio, a tragic mobile home fire claimed the lives of five individuals, including two children. Volunteer firefighters responded to the blaze at a Rainbow Lake Road address and found two mobile homes engulfed in flames, with one completely collapsed. Sadly, all five occupants found inside the burning home were deceased.
One survivor was rescued and taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed. The state fire marshal’s office, along with local authorities, is conducting the investigation. The devastating loss, especially involving children, has deeply affected the community and firefighters involved in the rescue efforts.
