COLUMBUS, Ohio-According to the World Health Organization, 80% of teenagers worldwide do not meet the recommended levels of physical activity. The WHO advises that individuals aged 5-17 should engage in at least one hour of moderate to vigorous exercise daily, primarily aerobic activities like walking, running, swimming, and bicycling. Insufficient physical activity among teens can lead to various health issues including increased adiposity, poorer cardiometabolic health, reduced fitness, behavioral issues, and shorter sleep duration, the WHO warns.
