April 8th, 2024-LAKEVIEW, Ohio-A severe storm caused widespread destruction across parts of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Arkansas, resulting in at least three deaths and numerous injuries. Residents faced damaged homes and businesses, with some fortunate to come through physically unscathed.
In Lakeview, Ohio, Ron Watt described seeking shelter with his chihuahua as the storm hit, while Sandy Smith recounted the destruction of her family’s garage. Blaine Schmidt sheltered in a bathtub, narrowly escaping harm as his home was severely damaged. In Winchester, Indiana, Romona Platt sought refuge in her bathroom as her home sustained significant damage, including shattered windows and a partially ripped roof. The storm also caused extensive destruction to local businesses and a church.
