WARREN, Ohio-The Trumbull County Bar Association organized a day for local high school students to gain firsthand insights into the county’s legal system. Various courtroom engagements were arranged, including keynote addresses by Judge Mary Jane Trapp, attorney Tara T. Keating, and Magistrate Kara Leonard Stanford.
Students shadowed legal professionals like County Bar Association President Christopher Schiavone, who mentored Joseph Badger High School student Kyleigh Lasko, offering insights into probate court operations. Another student, Adam Heckman from Howland High School, shadowed Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Rice, expressing aspirations for a legal career. Law Day also provided clarity on career paths for students like Keira Crouch from Bristol High School, who shadowed Assistant Prosecutor Chris Becker. The event, dating back to 1958, aims to expose students to real courtroom proceedings and foster interest in the legal field.
