COLUMBUS, Ohio-Arts IMPACT Middle School (AIMS) has become the first Columbus City School and urban middle school in Ohio to receive the Purple Star Designation, recognizing its commitment to military-connected students and families. Located on the former Fort Hayes military base, AIMS Principal Erica Dodson and Assistant Principal Joshua Battistone, who have military backgrounds themselves, are especially proud of this achievement.
AIMS aims to provide additional resources and support to military families transitioning to Columbus, fostering a welcoming environment for all students. The Purple Star designation signifies the school’s dedication to understanding and supporting the unique needs of military families, setting an example for other schools in the district to follow.
