Ashland Area Schools Unsure About Arming Teachers, Per new Ohio Legislation

ASHLAND, Ohio-In response to renewed national gun debate sparked by a Texas school shooting, Ohio Republicans passed House Bill 99, lowering the required training for school staff carrying guns from 700 hours to a maximum of 24 hours. Local school boards retain the authority to mandate additional training and must approve armed teachers and staff for school safety purposes.
