TOLEDO, Ohio-At age four, Azurie Garrett began her athletic journey in competitive cheerleading, excelling for ten years. Transitioning to track and field in junior high, she quickly mastered hurdles, leading to a recent victory at the Northern Lakes League Championship. Garrett’s impressive performance, including first place in the 100m and 300m hurdles, secured victory for Whitmer High School.
Despite her initial surprise at her success, Garrett’s athleticism and determination have propelled her to greatness, earning her recognition as a standout athlete. She not only excels individually but also sets a high standard as a teammate, leading practices and inspiring her peers. With collegiate athletics on the horizon, Garrett aims to continue her success and pursue higher achievements in the sport.
