AKRON, Ohio-Badin High School Baseball’s State Final Journey Badin High School’s baseball team experienced a memorable journey to the state final in Akron, marking the school’s ninth appearance in the state final.
Despite their efforts, Badin ended their season as the Division II state runner-up, facing a 3-2 defeat against West Branch in the championship game at Canal Park in Akron. This marked West Branch’s first state baseball championship. Badin led 2-0 through six innings, but West Branch staged a comeback in the top of the seventh inning, scoring three runs to secure the victory. Notable plays included a sacrifice play by Badin junior Xander Arnold, which scored senior Austin Buckle to give Badin a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning.
