April 12th, 2024-BATAVIA, Ohio-Tre Allen Ogletree, a substitute teacher at Batavia Local Schools, was sentenced for having an inappropriate relationship with a student he met while teaching. He was arrested in October 2023 and charged with three counts of sexual battery. Despite initially denying the allegations, Ogletree eventually confessed to the relationship when questioned by police.
The encounters between Ogletree and the student, including sexual intercourse, took place off-campus, with their interactions reportedly beginning with private messaging over the summer break. Ogletree was sentenced to 45 days in jail and three years of supervision.
