BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-During a Bowling Green Board of Education meeting, citizen Richard Strow cautioned the board to manage its spending carefully to ensure there’s enough funds for teacher raises during negotiations. Strow emphasized the importance of maintaining the current $12 million reserve in the bank.
He commended the board for changing meeting times to facilitate public attendance and praised their conservative approach to school delays during foggy conditions. Strow urged the board to adopt a similar conservative approach to budgeting to prevent depletion of funds. District treasurer Cathy Schuller echoed Strow’s concerns, acknowledging the importance of prudent financial management.
