BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-The Bowling Green Superintendent, Ted Haselman, encountered a discrepancy in the wording of the master plan resolution which he believed to be a mistake. However, it was explained to him that the phrasing was necessary to secure maximum state funding for the new high school project. Despite his reservations, Haselman acknowledged the need to adhere to state requirements to receive funding.
The resolution outlines various projects, including renovations and demolitions, but Haselman clarified that only the construction of a new high school and related renovations were planned and approved by voters. The district is in the process of selling bonds for the $72.8 million high school project. Additionally, the board approved another resolution agreeing to allocate funds for the maintenance of the new high school, which was already factored into the previous bond issue. Haselman announced a community event to address concerns and communicate updates.
