BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-The Bowling Green Middle School addition project is set to commence soon, with ACI Construction Co. winning the bid for the construction. The base bid of $3,925,000 was accepted, with four alternates adding $24,000 to the project. The total cost, including furnishings and additional cafeteria tables, is estimated at $4.6 million.
The board voted to borrow $4.4 million for the addition, with plans to repay using permanent improvement funds. The project is expected to be completed by July 31, 2018, with penalties for delays. Additionally, the retirement of district treasurer Rhonda Melchi, effective December 22, 2017, was accepted during the meeting.
