MOUNT VERNON ,Ohio-Dan Emmett hosted its first Book Bonanza, featuring questions ranging from sea monsters to narcolepsy and even searching for donuts in a trash can. Participants, divided into two teams – The Buckeyes and The Book Warriors – competed by answering questions based on various books they had read. The competition, which emphasized plot points, required students to respond with the title and author of the book.
After an engaging session, The Book Warriors emerged victorious, celebrating their win with enthusiasm. Preparation for the event began in late February, with students meeting weekly to practice answering questions. The competition promoted critical thinking and teamwork skills, with students selecting books of interest for their preparation. Interest for next year’s event has already sparked, indicating a continuation of the engaging literary tradition at Dan Emmett.
