BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-Gregory Kamer Jr., a 38-year-old man from Bowling Green, Ohio was convicted of raping a 5-year-old girl and sentenced to 8 years in prison. He initially faced the possibility of four consecutive life sentences. His prior conviction was overturned by the 6th District Court of Appeals, which ruled that the victim’s testimony should not have been admitted at trial. Prosecutor Paul Dobson expressed disappointment with the outcome, believing it to be less than what Kamer deserved. The prosecution chose not to retry the case to avoid further traumatizing the young victim. According to court documents, Kamer raped the victim multiple times over an eight-month period starting in December 2018. He was originally indicted in 2019 on multiple charges, including rape, gross sexual imposition, and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.
