Child Shot in Columbus Shooting While Riding in Car with Family Members

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Over the weekend, two separate shootings in Columbus resulted in injuries to children:

1. Hilltop Area Shooting: On Wedgewood Drive, a child in a car was struck by a stray bullet around 10:36 p.m. The child, who was hit in the lower body, was initially taken to a local hospital and later transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in stable condition. The police have not identified suspects or made arrests.

2. South Side Shooting: Shortly before 11:13 p.m., another child was injured by gunfire on Lockbourne Road, near Driving Park. This child was also taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Details on suspects or arrests have not been provided.

Police are seeking information on both incidents through the Columbus Division of Police felony assault unit.
