Cincinnati Public Schools Adjusts Kickoff Times for 4 Football Games Due to ‘Community Violence’

CINCINNATI, Ohio-Four high school football games involving Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) have adjusted their kickoff times this weekend due to concerns about gun violence in the area. CPS announced the changes to prioritize the safety of students and staff, with games being moved to earlier start times or different days.

The revised schedule is as follows:
– Hughes vs. Western Hills at 5 p.m. Thursday (originally 6:30 p.m.)
– Gamble Montessori vs. Bellevue at 5 p.m. Friday (originally 7 p.m.)
– Aiken vs. Woodward at 10 a.m. Saturday (originally 6:30 p.m. Friday)
– Taft vs. Withrow at 2 p.m. Saturday (originally 1 p.m.)

Aiken’s coach emphasized using the extra preparation time positively. The adjustments follow several incidents of gun violence near high school events this season, including postponements and halts during games.
