CLEVELAND, Ohio-Ulando Mims Jr., a Cleveland man, faces murder charges in two separate killings that occurred over two consecutive days earlier this year. He is indicted for the January 2 death of 17-year-old Tyrone Griffin in Cleveland and for the January 3 slaying of 19-year-old Lequan Head in Warrensville Heights. Mims was already in jail on bond for the latter murder charge.
His co-defendants in each case face similar charges. Griffin was found shot in the head and struck by a car, while Head was discovered shot multiple times inside a parked car. Mims had a prior criminal record, including a recent probation sentence for theft and firearm charges. He and another individual were also arrested for shoplifting in December but were released on bond and subsequently missed their court appearances. Mims was arrested in April, while his co-defendant remains at large.
