Cleveland Neighborhood Asking For an End to ‘Chaotic’ School Drop-Off

April 11th, 2024-CLEVELAND, Ohio-Residents along West 140th Street in Cleveland express frustration over chaotic traffic during school mornings. Double and triple parking on the two-lane street, cars zipping around parked vehicles, and even driving through yards have become common.

Despite calls for action to the city, no results have been seen. Parents agree the situation is challenging during drop-off times and call for a better system. Cleveland Metropolitan School District and the elementary school principal have been contacted for response. Councilman Brian Kazy acknowledges the complaints and plans to address the issue in the summer for the next school year. Cleveland Police Department has increased monitoring in the area during drop-off times to deter reckless driving.
