After months of discussion, engagement and debate, the Columbus City Schools Board of Education voted Tuesday night to close five of the nine schools recommended by a facilities task force.
The board voted, in divided votes, to close Broadleigh Elementary, Buckeye Middle School, Moler Elementary and the building that holds Columbus Alternative High School. The board also voted to close West Broad Elementary under the condition that the board can secure funding to replace the school building on the site, and also to close the Downtown board offices.
