The Columbus Board of Education will consider a resolution Tuesday pledging to become a “carbon-free district” and use “100% clean, renewable energy” in all facilities by 2050, a board agenda shows.
Why it matters: As Ohio’s largest school district, with about 45,000 students enrolled, Columbus is positioned to make the greatest impact on climate change and set an example for others.
Context: The city’s Climate Action Plan calls for the same carbon-neutrality goal for all of Columbus.
