COLUMBUS, Ohio-Police have identified a 16-year-old Columbus girl, Carlie Frizzell, who was killed in what is believed to be an accidental shooting on Wednesday night in the Hilltop neighborhood. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 10:30 p.m. and found Frizzell with a gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Grant Medical Center. Initial reports suggest she accidentally shot herself in the abdomen. Police have identified a suspect known to the victim but are withholding the name pending further investigation by the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities confirmed that there was an unintended discharge of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Columbus Police.
