CLEVELAND, Ohio-A candlelight vigil will be held at Cuyahoga Heights High School on Thursday night to honor fallen Euclid Police Officer Jacob Derbin, who graduated from the school in 2018. Organized by the school’s cheerleading advisory, the vigil is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Derbin was a beloved member of the Cuyahoga Heights football and track and field teams throughout his high school years, known affectionately as “Jake” by his coaches and teammates. Head football coach Al Martin recalls Derbin as someone with a positive attitude and abundant energy, who played a pivotal role on the team as an offensive lineman wearing jersey number 65.
