Days after Akron Superintendent says ‘Respect me,’ Board Passes Resolution of Support

AKRON, Ohio-Following concerns expressed by Akron Public Schools Superintendent Michael Robinson about feeling unsupported, the school board passed a resolution reaffirming their support for him and acknowledging the district’s recent successes under his leadership. The resolution, titled “Resolution proclaiming the excellent progress of the Akron Public School District,” recognizes the achievements of students, staff, and Robinson, despite recent negative perceptions in the community. It highlights various new programs and improvements attributed to Robinson’s leadership and encourages him to maintain the positive momentum. The resolution passed with a 5-0 vote, with board member Rene Molenaur abstaining due to not having reviewed it beforehand.
