Dayton Public Schools board of education renewed superintendent David Lawrence’s contract for two years and increased his base salary to $204,750.
The salary is on the higher end for local school superintendents. Centerville superintendent Jon Wesney’s base salary remains frozen at $166,000 though the board recently renewed his contract. Kettering superintendent Melinda McCarty-Stewart’s base salary began at $175,000 when she was hired in 2022. Kettering and Centerville are two of the biggest local school districts after Dayton Public.
