GREENVILLE, Ohio-Seventh through ninth grade students from Decolores Montessori School participated in the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs’ Jr. Festival at Miami University. The festival offered students the opportunity to perform two music selections of their choice for adjudication, aiming to enhance their musical skills.
Students prepared string instrument solos, duets, and ensembles and were evaluated by judges based on a scoring system. The goal was to achieve a “Superior” or “Excellent” rating, with the highest achievement being “Unanimous Superior” if both judges awarded the student a “Superior.” Solo pieces had to be memorized. Several students received “Unanimous Superior” ratings, while others achieved “Superior” or “Excellent” ratings in various categories, showcasing their musical talents and dedication to their craft.
