April 12th, 2024-RADNOR, Ohio-Rhonda Coomes, the owner of a Delaware County day care, faces additional charges of kidnapping and endangering children after allegedly causing physical harm to a 10-month-old girl under her care. Coomes was previously indicted on one count of kidnapping and three counts of endangering children but now faces three kidnapping charges and 14 endangering children charges.
Court documents state that Coomes struck the child multiple times in the face and nose area with her hand and hit her with a hard plastic diaper wipe container. Additionally, the child was allegedly tossed into a pack-and-play, resulting in a black eye. Prosecutors obtained videos recorded inside Coomes’ home, showing her “cruelly abusing children,” according to court documents. Coomes is scheduled for trial on May 16.
