DeWine Signs Bill on School Bathroom use by Transgender Students

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed a law banning transgender students from using bathrooms that align with their gender identity in public and private schools, colleges, and universities. The law, known as the “Protect All Students Act,” requires schools to designate separate bathrooms and facilities based on the gender assigned at birth. It takes effect in 90 days and exempts certain situations, such as for school employees or those assisting young children or people with disabilities.
