WHITEHALL, Ohio-Whitehall-Yearling High School was placed on lockdown Thursday morning following a prank call about a gun at the school. The administration implemented a level 3 lockdown, evacuated some classes, and the Whitehall police conducted a thorough search but found no credible threat. Reports of gunshots in the area were determined to be from a car backfiring. The school day was ended early, and a two-hour delay will be in effect on Friday, with counselors and town hall meetings available for support. The police are continuing their investigation and plan to file charges once the suspect is identified.
