UPPER ARINGTON-Fifth graders at Barrington Elementary School in Upper Arlington, Ohio, organized a fundraiser called a ‘coin war’ to support the Buckeye Clinic of South Sudan, which aids families affected by civil war and humanitarian crises. Led by a former Sudanese refugee now living in Columbus, the students raised over $2,500 in a few days.
This initiative not only provided financial assistance but also expanded the students’ awareness beyond their local community. President of the Buckeye Clinic, Bol Aweng, emphasized the importance of gratitude and generosity. Those interested in donating to the cause can find more information on their website.
