Elida Elementary Summer Library Program Keeps Kids Excited About Reading with STEM Activities

ELIDA, Ohio-Elida Elementary’s Summer Library Program engages students in educational fun with STEM activities even though school is out. The program, running for over a decade, encourages reading among K-5 students through hands-on projects aligned with weekly themes. Activities include making tote bags to learn about insects and constructing Lego karts for racing.

Teachers and students alike appreciate the program for its blend of learning and enjoyment. Participants set reading goals with incentives like prizes and books. The next session, themed “Robots are Awesome,” will be held on Wednesday, June 12th, at 9:30 a.m., emphasizing continued engagement in reading and STEM exploration.
