COLUMBUS, Ohio-Columbus is experiencing rapid growth and an affordable housing crisis, prompting a new project backed by Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Four newly built duplexes on Reeb Avenue have been unveiled, all of which have been leased. This $2.35 million initiative, part of the hospital’s Healthy Homes program, aims to provide families with affordable housing options. The units cost around $920 per month, significantly less than the average of $1,400 for similar properties. Delexis Turner, a single mother of four, recently moved into one of the units after struggling with high rent in Old Towne East. She expressed her happiness with the new space, which offers more room and a better living environment. The housing units are designed for families supported by the Reeb Center, which serves as a community hub for various nonprofits.
