Family confirms identity of teen in apparent drowning at East Fork State Park

The family of a missing 14-year-old has confirmed that Joseph Kabumba was the affected child in the second apparent drowning at Harsha Lake over Fourth of July weekend. Officers with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources received an emergency call just before 7 p.m. July 6 about a 14-year-old boy who went missing after swimming outside Harsha Lake’s swim zone, a department spokesperson said. Kabumba was found shortly before 1 a.m. on July 7.
