Finding Solutions: Sick Girl Gets in-Network Treatment, Car Owners Reimbursed For Damage

CINCINNATI, Ohio-A family from New Richmond, Ohio, faced challenges securing in-network coverage for their 10-year-old daughter’s brain cyst treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital due to changes in their Affordable Care Act (ACA) provider’s network.

This left them with potential bills amounting to tens of thousands of dollars or the need to travel to other cities for in-network care. After intervention from their ACA provider, Anthem, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, the hospital agreed to provide in-network coverage for the remainder of the year. However, the family will need to find a new ACA provider for the following year.
