CINCINNATI, Ohio-First Student, a leading school transportation provider, is preparing for its busiest school year yet. The company plans to complete 1 billion student trips, transport 5.5 million students daily, and drive 525 million miles across 19,000 schools in 43 states. They will employ nearly 50,000 drivers and are set to deploy 110 new electric school buses, aiming to reduce carbon emissions by 12,550 tons. First Student is committed to transitioning 30,000 diesel buses to electric by 2035 and has received over $400 million in EPA rebates to support this goal. Their electric buses are expected to drive 6 million miles and complete 167,400 trips this year.
