CINCINNATI, Ohio-Many local teachers and students will return to classrooms in about two weeks. Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) is actively recruiting new teachers and staff, including through a “Walk-in Wednesday” event on July 31, where potential hires may be offered positions on the spot. This effort complements a job fair held in June, addressing over 100 open teaching positions. These actions are part of a broader response to a significant issue reported by the National Center for Education Statistics, which found that 86% of U.S. K-12 schools are struggling to hire teachers, with nearly half feeling understaffed due to a limited pool of qualified candidates.
