Franklin Seeks Bond Issue to Secure State aid in $130 Million School Construction Project

FRANKLIN, Ohio-Voters in the Franklin City School District will decide on a 37-year, 6.52-mill bond issue this fall to fund the first phase of new school facilities. The $130 million project, approved by the Franklin Board of Education, includes the construction of three new elementary schools, with the state covering approximately 57% of the costs once funds become available.

The district needs to pass the local bond issue to access the state funding and proceed with building the new elementary schools. If approved, the bond issue will generate just over $66 million, allowing the district to participate in the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission’s Expedited Local Partnership Plan.
