Galion Schools Introduces Civil Air Patrol Squadron 802

GALION, Ohio-In the spring of 2024, the Galion City School District introduced a new Civil Air Patrol program for students in grades 6-9. This initiative aims to align with the district’s mission and the Portrait of a Tiger initiative, focusing on personal development and civic responsibility. The program will foster a supportive environment and prepare students to be active, successful community members. The program is based at Civil Air Patrol Squadron 802, conveniently located next to the middle school, allowing easy access for students. It will expand to include grades 6-12 over time, offering training in Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Programs. Supt. Dr. Jeff Hartmann and SMSgt. Brian Kentosh emphasize that the program will instill values, discipline, and ethical thinking, preparing students for success in both civilian and military spheres.
