CINCINNATI, Ohio-Moeller junior quarterback Matt Ponatoski was named the Greater Catholic League South (GCL South) Offensive Player of the Year after an impressive regular season where he passed for 2,684 yards and 39 touchdowns. Ponatoski, who is also Moeller’s all-time career passing yards leader, has received multiple scholarship offers in both football and baseball. St. Xavier junior linebacker Kobe Clapper and La Salle senior linebacker Brady O’Connor were named the GCL South Defensive Players of the Year. O’Connor, who has committed to Navy, led the league with 86 tackles, including 12 tackles for a loss, and helped La Salle to an 8-2 record. Clapper posted 77 tackles, including 2 ½ sacks, and also had nine tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
