April 10th, 2024-SAINT CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio-Brian Ormes, a candidate in the Republican primary for Kentucky House of Representatives District 67, was arrested on strangulation charges after allegedly grabbing a teenager’s neck in a Walmart store. The incident occurred when Ormes became angry after the teen and his friends almost hit his son with a ball. Surveillance footage and witness accounts supported the teen’s claim.
Ormes admitted to putting his hands on the teen but stated it was due to his anger over the incident with his son. One of his opponents, Terry Hatton, called for Ormes to drop out of the race, citing concerns about his ability to serve the public. The Campbell County Republican Party stated they support Ormes’ right to due process but did not comment further on the incident.
