Hoax threat causes lockdown Thursday at Licking Heights High School, bomb squad response

Licking Heights High School was under a “teach in place” lockdown Thursday while law enforcement and a bomb squad investigated what the district now says was a hoax threat.

According to a district spokesperson, the lockdown meant students remained in their classrooms at Licking Heights High School, located outside Pataskala at 4101 Summit Road SW, and teachers continued instruction as usual until the restriction was lifted.

During the lockdown, the district spokesperson said students and staff were not in danger, and the restriction was a precautionary measure. Families were urged not come to the high school to pick students up.
