COLUMBUS, Ohio-Hilliard City Schools conducted a drill to practice the reunification of parents and children following a tragic event. Staff, along with local police and fire personnel, participated in two separate simulations to prepare for securing and reuniting students with their families. The training aimed to provide staff with experience in a controlled environment, ensuring they are prepared for the emotional intensity of a real emergency. Approximately 2,000 district employees took part, and feedback from the drill will help refine future procedures. The simulation focused on post-incident reunification but also applied to other evacuation scenarios.
