COLUMBUS, Ohio-Hayes, born with a brain injury, faced significant challenges in feeding at Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s NICU. His condition initially required tube feeding, prompting emotional distress for his parents. Under Dr. Sudarshan Jadcherla’s direction, a personalized feeding therapy was devised, aiming to retrain Hayes’ neurological and muscular functions. This approach succeeded, enabling Hayes to transition from tube to independent bottle feeding within three weeks.
