CLEVELAND, Ohio-A man driving down West 102nd Street noticed a burning house and stopped to rescue an 11-month-old child trapped inside. The fire, which began around 9:30 a.m., engulfed the home on all three floors.
While the woman managed to escape with one of her twins, the good Samaritan, John Stickovich, entered the burning house and retrieved the other infant. Stickovich, still recovering in the hospital, described how he found the baby after hearing her cry amidst the thick smoke. He expressed relief at being able to help before firefighters arrived.
