Alexis Higham and her 4-year-old daughter Carina are traumatized. “I said, ‘We’re going to die. We’re going to die right here,'” Higham, a Mentor resident, recalled. “I’m damaged for her, because she has to live with that for the rest of her life.” Over the weekend, the two were walking on a trail to Veterans Park in Mentor when Higham says a pit bull, roaming the area by itself, latched onto Carina’s face.
