Judge limits access to sensitive children services records in Kei’Mani Latigue murder case

A Lucas County judge has ordered that sensitive children services records sought by the man accused of killing his 13-year-old daughter will be turned over only to his counsel and kept strictly out of his personal reach. The judge ruled that the documents, which contain private details about affected persons and witnesses, will be marked “counsel only.” Darnell Jones, charged in the brutal death of Kei’Mani Latigue, may not review the material without attorney supervision. The court said the protective order is designed to balance Jones’ right to prepare a defense while safeguarding the personal information of those involved.
