HILLARD, Ohio-A federal judge has dismissed part of a lawsuit against Hilliard City Schools brought by parents seeking the removal of LGBTQ+ badges and alleging the district’s potential concealment of a child’s gender dysphoria. The judge rejected claims that parents could be marked as “unsafe” by the district due to their anti-LGBTQ+ views, citing lack of evidence.
However, the lawsuit’s claim regarding a student pressured to adopt a different gender identity without parental consent was allowed to proceed. The judge also dismissed the contention against LGBTQ+ badges, stating that parents failed to demonstrate any risk to their children from the badges. The district maintains that the lawsuit is based on incorrect information and looks forward to presenting counterarguments.
