The below-freezing temperatures may have shut down classrooms, but not even Mother Nature could stop Northwood Local Schools from showing up for students.
On Tuesday, the district opened its doors to feed students through the cold weather – at no cost.
“It’s really important here at Northwood because we do have a high free-reduced percentage of students here, so they do depend on the breakfast and lunch every day here,” Emilia Bires, director of operations for Northwood Local Schools said.
