PERRYSBURG, Ohio-School leaders in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan are responding to the unofficial results of recent levy and bond votes. However, not all districts fared well. In Perrysburg, 54% of voters rejected a proposed operating levy for the third time in a year. This will result in a loss of $13.5 million, leading to potential cuts in sports, field trips, and programs, as well as larger class sizes. Findlay City Schools also faced setbacks, with 52% voting against a proposed 1% income tax. Superintendent Andy Hatton noted the district hasn’t passed a levy in 20 years and has been deficit spending. Without new funding, the district will have to make significant cuts, primarily affecting staffing and programs.
