BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio-A local teen, 18-year-old Landon Johnson from Bellefontaine, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OVI) after a traffic stop revealed significant impairment. An officer noticed Johnson’s unresponsive vehicle at a green light around 11:30 PM and initiated a stop after observing erratic driving. Upon contact, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and noted Johnson’s bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Initially claiming to have consumed only “one drink,” he later admitted to drinking two Peach Four Loko beverages found in the car. Field sobriety tests showed clear signs of impairment, and a breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.160, twice the legal limit in Ohio. Johnson was arrested and charged with OVI, underage alcohol consumption, and possession of an open container. He was released to his father and is scheduled for a mandatory court appearance.
